Individual Contributor (IC) Guide

As an IC, you contribute to strategic initiatives and earn points for your work. Your Manager tracks your progress and awards points as the initiative progresses.

What You Can See

Your Dashboard

Your dashboard gives you a snapshot of your current standing:

Strategic Initiatives

You can browse all strategic initiatives in your organization (subject to visibility settings). For each initiative, you'll see:

Point Tiers

Instead of seeing exact point values, you'll see tier badges that indicate an initiative's relative value:

Tier What It Means
Gold High-value strategic initiative (100+ points)
Silver Medium-value initiative (50–99 points)
Bronze Standard initiative (1–49 points)
Your own points: You can always see the exact points you've been awarded on initiatives you're contributing to, regardless of the visibility setting.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard shows organization-wide rankings by total points earned. You can filter by time period (this month, quarter, year, all time) and by team.

How You Earn Points

1. Get Assigned to an Initiative

Your Manager adds you as a contributor to a strategic initiative and sets your allocation percentage. This determines your share of the initiative's total points.

2. Do the Work

Your actual work happens outside G4mify — in meetings, Slack, code reviews, design sessions, or wherever your team collaborates. G4mify tracks the outcomes, not the daily activity.

3. Checkpoints

Your Manager will periodically review progress and dispense partial points based on what's been accomplished. You don't need to submit anything in G4mify — your Manager initiates the review.

4. Completion

When the initiative is done, remaining points are distributed. Your Manager may also award a bonus for exceptional contributions.

FAQ

Can I submit work through G4mify?

Not in the current mode. Your Manager tracks progress externally and awards points through the platform. Think of G4mify as where outcomes are recognized, not where daily work is submitted.

Why can't I see exact point values?

Your Admin has configured point visibility to show tier badges (Gold, Silver, Bronze) instead of exact numbers. This keeps the focus on contribution quality rather than point chasing. You can always see your own earned points.

How are my points calculated?

Your points are based on your allocation percentage of the initiative's calibrated total. For example, if you have 40% allocation on a 100-point initiative, you're eligible for up to 40 points (plus any bonus your Manager awards).
